Feminism

Last week in class we watched a video called, "The F-Word Who Wants to be a Feminist?" It changed my perspective upon feminist but yet still to this day I know for a fact that I myself am not a feminist. I do believe that the rights and freedom women have today are amazing. I believe that we as women have everything we could ask for so why are there still feminist movements, what more could we ask for without over-powering men? I thought we wanted equality and equality we have. Some women may say we get paid less than men which is true in some cases but they don't put into perspective that when we as women take a mat-leave, the men in the workforce are getting raises because they are still working. I don't think some women put that into perspective. I truly believe that the women in Canada have things made and if anything a movement should be for the starving and homeless people that are out there. I don't see myself as a feminist because I think that women can do everything men can do, there's no one out there saying that women cannot be welders, carpenters etc. Women are allowed to do anything they put there mind toward(anything non-illegal that is).

This is a wordle I made from the lyrics of the song "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" by Shania Twain
